Rescue Dogs for Adoption

Hello. My name is Tam. I live in Orange County, and I rescue dogs. This is my blog on my rescue dogs. They are looking for new homes. If you know anybody who is looking for a dog, please let them know about my blog. You can e-mail my posts to your friends by clicking an e-mail icon below each post. Please spread the word about rescued animals. Pets are always available for adoption at local animal shelters, too. Please always think about adopting first when you look for a pet.

Millaii - Female German Shepherd Mix - 2 years old (Spayed/Current with Shots)

Millaii is about 2 years old, and such an easy-to-take-care-of gal.
Loves to sleep - She is always napping on a couch or a bed.
Loves to eat - Has a good appetite. No picky at all. Enjoys eating everything given.

Very loyal and affectionate. She diligently follows me everywhere I go, and after I have settled down at my destination, she drops and starts taking a nap right behind me.

Just like this

Millaii is modest. She doesn't ask for much. Actually doesn't ask for anything. Yet, when the door to the storage where dog treats are kept, her face brightens up and she looks very excited. Very cute.

Millaii LOVES CATS. This very important and needs to be noted.
She is always following my cats, especially the younger boy, Toby, who grew up with my dog Ginger. Toby is fearless, careless, and well...crazy.
Millaii loves Toby and they play together wrestling. Millaii tries to groom Toby every chance she gets, and it doesn't seem to bother him much.
I'm assuming the cats remind Millaii of her puppies (She had babies in around June). Her puppies were taken away from her shortly after she had had them, and according to the former owner, Millaii went crazy looking for them.

When Millaii is outside, she is glued to the fence where she can peek at stray cats through the cracks.
Or she visits neighbors who have cats, and patiently watches the cats staring at Millaii from the inside of their homes through the screen door.

Toby and Millaii became good friends

I think Millaii likes cats more than she likes dogs.
It's not that she doesn't get along with other dogs, She is fine with them, but she tries to be the boss over the others so the new owners may not like to see her trying to mount on their existing pet dog.

When we are outside, Millaii also likes chasing a ball these days. She takes it to the shady area and has fun chewing it.

She is getting better at catching the ball every day!

Millaii is loyal and quiet. She would be a perfect dog where she is the only dog in the house. If there are cats living in the house, that would be even better. She can house-sit quietly while waiting for her owner to come home.

Yes, Millaii is usually very quiet. She almost never barks at home. Only when she is out at a dog park or a beach, she barks at other stranger dogs that come near her. I think she may be protective of Anko, her adopted sister dog whom I am also fostering. She is very alert for the noises outside she can be a good watch dog too.

Important facts about Millaii
  • Millaii is spayed and current with her shots.
  • Millaii is house-broken. She can hold her bladder and bowel for a long time. NO accidents have I ever had with her since I got her on 9/1/2010 (of course you will have to let her go outside a few times a day. Doggy door will be perfect).
  • She doesn't have problematic habits like chewing or barking. She hasn't chewed anything in the house. She just naps to pass time.
  • Millaii needs to be an indoor dog as she loves napping in the house so much
  • Moderate shedding for a German Shepherd Dog

Please e-mail me if you are interested in Millaii, or have questions, or if you know of anybody who may be interested in her.

You can foster her for a few days to see if she is a good fit for your family. I will always take her back if you decided she is not the right pet for you.
